..."protect"? You know, that makes a lot of sense!!!! I was real confused why they would've put you outside of a temple people needed to stay away from. Stone gargoyles, where I'm from, are symbols of friendship when gifted from gargoyles.

Putting a symbol of friendship outside an evil temple would be really misleading...
