They are not. The temple is where I am from. The church is where the humans set up their religious ceremonies. The temple is... it was supposed to hold the Creature within it, thus the necessity for statues like me. There is a belief from humans that gargoyles protect.

I suppose it isn't wrong. [Sigh.] Regardless, the temple is in ruins now. The church is a little less so.
