TL;DR, Vash will be caught up to his current canonpoint at the end of Stampede, two years after the accident in JuLai. This will come with a missing arm, some longer hair, and some stubble, which... presumably means fucking off into the forest? I'm not sure how that will play since I think they'll still be Subnautica'd? Let me know
Anyway, as for the memories, long story short, after the accident in JuLai it's implied that he's suffering from amnesia. So, when he first arrives, he'll need a few days for that to sort of fade. After that, he'll remember the destruction of JuLai, Nai's death, all that fun stuff. Yippee!
